Snowshoe Sees It’s First Snowflakes of the Season….

Snowshoe, WV – On Tuesday, upslope flurries from a strong northwest flow were found over the mountains of West Virginia. This included Pocahontas County, WV up at Snowshoe Mountain Resort, where they saw their first snowflakes of the season. Droop Mountain and Flat Top Mountain also saw flurries.
No flurries to report in the Alleghany Highlands. Sustained winds of 15 to 25 mph were found with gusts upwards of 50 mph at times along with scattered rain showers. Forecasters are calling for more rain, a 80 % chance of rain Thursday through Saturday. Cooler temperatures will also stick around with highs only in the mid to upper 50s and lows in the upper 30s to the mid 40s during the same period.
Next week we the Alleghany Highlands and West Virginia could see some of the coldest temperatures of the season.
